What to expect at a

Well Care Visit

Well care check-up visits are important, even when children are healthy. These check-ups will help to keep your child healthy and ensure they are meeting their developmental milestones. Dr. Feltus and Teena will evaluate your child's general health, growth and development, as well as give you time to ask questions to keep your children safe and healthy!

 

Below is an example of a shot schedule. Your actual immunization schedule may be different due to the varied availability of combination vaccines.

Well Visit/Immunization Schedule

IN THE HOSPITAL

  • Full exam

  • PKU test/Eye drops/Vitamin K shot/1st Hepatitis B shot

2-3 days to 1 week

  • Full exam

2 WEEKS

  • Weight check

  • Full exam

5 WEEKS

  • Full exam

2 MONTHS

  • Full exam

  • Shots: DTaP/IPV/HepB combination (such as Pediarix), Pneumococcal, Rotavirus, HIB

4 MONTHS

  • Full exam

  • Shots: DTaP/IPV/HepB combination (such as Pediarix), Pneumococcal, Rotavirus, HIB

6 MONTHS

  • Full exam

  • Shots: DTaP/IPV/HepB combination (such as Pediarix), Pneumococcal, HIB

9 MONTHS

  • Full exam

12 MONTHS

  • Full exam

  • Shots: MMR/Varivax/Pneumococcal

15 MONTHS

  • Full exam

  • Hib

18 MONTHS

  • Full exam

  • Hep A, DtaP

24 MONTHS

  • Full exam

  • Hep A

3 YEARS

  • Full exam/vision

  • Screen/Recommend dental exam

4 YEARS

  • Full exam/Vision screen

  • Shots: MMR/ Varivax

5 YEARS

  • Full exam

  • Shots: DTaP/IPV

6 YEARS

  • Full exam

8 YEARS

  • Full exam/Vision screen

10 YEARS

  • Full exam/Vision screen

12 YEARS

  • Full exam/Vision screen

  • Shots: TdaP/Meningococcal Begin HPV, second shot 6 months later

AFTER 12

  • Yearly exams

  • Meningococcal shot at 16 years, Tetanus booster every 10 years.

  • IPV – Polio

  • HIB – H. Flu B

  • Hep A – Hepatitis A

  • Pneumococcal Vaccine

  • Varivax – Chicken Pox vaccine

  • Meningococcal Vaccines A and B
